Bette Davis Eyes
Her hair is Harlow gold, her lips sweet surprise
Her hands are never cold, she's got Bette Davis eyesShe'll turn the music on you, you won't have to think twiceShe's pure as New York snow, she got Bette Davis eyesAnd she'll tease you, she'll unease youAll the better just to please youShe's precocious, and she knows justWhat it takes to make a pro blushShe got Greta Garbo's stand off sighs, she's got Bette Davis eyesShe'll let you take her home, it whets her appetiteShe'll lay you on the throne, she got Bette Davis eyes[ Kim Carnes Lyrics are found on www.dapslyrics.com ] She'll take a tumble on you, roll you like you were diceUntil you come up blue, she's got Bette Davis eyesShe'll expose you, when she snows youHope you breathe with the crumbs she throws youShe's ferocious and she knows justWhat it takes to make a pro blushAll the boys think she's a spy, she's got Bette Davis eyesAnd she'll tease you, she'll unease youAll the better just to please youShe's precocious, and she knows justWhat it takes to make a pro blushAll the boys think she's a spy, she's got Bette Davis eyes...

So Busy!

Ok, so there is a reason for the fact that I haven't posted anything in awhile...I have been too busy being bold!! Let's start with Thursday..

Thursday (Day 4)
1. Was very brave at a meeting, spoke up and voiced all of my opinions
2. Went out and had a blast! Met a guy and actually talked for awhile...had some bold conversation....gave him my number.

Friday (Day 5)
1. Acted like myself through and through :)
2. Another bold night going out...obnoxious singing and dancing, great time!

Saturday (Day 6)
1. Kicked ass at work even though I was hungover.
2. Stayed in and did my hw/ took care of myself....this was very difficult considering everyone was going out.

I need to continue being bold because it keeps getting better. I feel my confidence already improving drastically....and most of all I am having a lot of fun!

" I'd love to kiss ya, but I just washed my hair"

Day 3: More "blah" than "bold"

So now we are on Day 3....sadly, I did not do anything terribly bold today either.

1. Went shopping and spent waaaayyyyy too much money on boots.
2. Went to a really awkward meeting...seriously so awkward that it was bold of me to show up.

I know, I know really pathetic. Does it count that I made really bold plans for Friday night? (Strip Club! I've never been...so that's bold). Other than that I have bravely put off doing my homework until now. Tomorrow the plan is to cook for my roomies (and I don't cook well...so we will see how that goes). Honestly, I feel like there isn't a whole lot to do...I have not been presented with any bold opportunities. I need the universe to give me a chance to be bold!!!!

Here is to a braver tomorrow!!!!

Day 2

So here's the deal.....I wasn't crazy bold today, but I think it is a step in the right direction. Here were the "bold" acts of the day:

1. Wore a killer outfit
2. Flirted (OK, talked to) the guy I think I have a crush on...
3. Lastly, it terrifies me not to do my homework so I spent 2 hours talking and laughing with my friends instead of reading for my class.

We'll see what else happens!

You know how everyone hates the sound of their own voice when they have to hear it played back to them? Well that pretty much sums up how I feel about my writing, so I am hoping I don't regret writing all of this when I read it down the line. That was an awfully pessimistic way to start a blog, wasn't it? Wow. Well, let's just get into it then. I came across a blog titled "Be Brave Project", and I am deciding to try my own version of it. The "project"/blog was inspired by the famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote, "Do one thing every day that scares you" . I have found my own quote that has inspired me to take action and DO SOMETHING. This is the quote that started it,

"Act boldly and unforeseen forces will come to your aid" ~ Dorthea Brande

Who's Dorthea Brande? I had no idea until yesterday. I "googled" her and found out she is the author of a book called Wake Up and Live. I was immediately excited to go to the campus library and pick up this book, but to my surprise and misfortune, they could not find it. I am now waiting until it "turns up".....unlikely at best.

Basically what the "Be Brave Project" asks you to do is step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to do one thing that scares you everyday. This is not a revolutionary idea, but something that so many people lose sight of during the day-to-day. To be honest, I am terribly bored with my life right now- it fees hopelessly stagnant. I feel clausterphobic, and I am much too stubborn to let it get the best of me. As an English Major I enjoy writing and reading, but I hate my own writing with a passion (it always feels cliche---ugh). So, Brave Act numero uno is writing this in the first place and making it semi-public. Also, this is even braver becuase I have lots of homework I should be doing instead. I have a class that I read for every week, but the professor still accuses me of not reading .....look at the highlighted pages! I don't just color the words for fun! And what will I do tomorrow/today? I have no idea. I did just read a biography about Vivien Leigh (Gone with the Wind) and one time she said to a waiter..."You deserve to be kissed!" and kissed him....this may be a little too bold to start out with, but perhaps as things pick up. Hopefully something will come to me by tomorrow morning...
